The Lunar New Year falls on February 17th, and is widely celebrated across many Asian cultures. The Lunar New Year is the perfect time for a fresh start: a time for change, abundance and clearing out the old to make room for new, both physically and mentally.
In 2026, we transition from the year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse. The Snake is associated with transformation, of shedding old habits and identities that no longer serve us, while the Horse represents freedom, energy and forward momentum. If 2025 felt like a year in which you were stuck in a reflective and sometimes difficult internal feedback loop, the Horse is here to propel us to action, taking all the lessons we learned during the difficult times to push ourselves into uncharted, happier territory.
New Year, New Skin: What the Year of the Snake Can Teach Us About Exfoliation
The snake is best known for its ability to slough off dead skin, and this is a very useful tool for us as well. Beautiful, healthy skin requires clearing away old, dead skin cells to reveal the bright, smooth skin underneath. If you feel like your skin could use a reset, here are a few of our favorite exfoliants!
Benefits of Regular Exfoliation:
- Promotes cell turnover to remove dead skin cells and promote a fresher complexion
- Improves absorption of topical skincare
- Helps to unclog pores and prevent congestion
- Improves texture for silky, smooth skin

Auspicious Beginnings: Good Luck Rituals
Beyond perennial beauty rituals, the Lunar New Year comes with many traditions that are believed to bring good luck and success. How can you attract some of that luck your way?
Wear Red
Deep Clean the House
Eat Lucky Foods
But the best part of the Lunar New Year is the second chance it brings. If you set intentions for yourself on January 1st, and you feel that you’ve lost momentum or have not made the progress you wanted to, this is the perfect time to reassess and try again. The pressure to be perfect each January can be overwhelming, but in mid-February you’ve learned more about your goals and can better align yourself with what you are looking to accomplish.
On February 17th, we welcome the Year of the Horse. It encourages us to gallop forward with confidence, to take bold risks and to chase our dreams, no matter how challenging they seem. We take the lessons learned from the Year of the Snake to heart and build upon that foundation for a better future. This is the reminder that we all need: you can always try again, and there are many roads that lead to success.
