Sunday Reset: Palazzos, Pistachios & Photography

Join us each week as we explore what’s shaping our world in beauty, wellness, lifestyle, and culture. Through the lens of our team, The Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. is a curated reflection on what we’re reading, eating, purchasing, obsessing over, recommending, and treating ourselves to!

What We’re Reading This Week

Chasing Beauty, by Natalie Dykstra

Winner of the Marfield Prize, this biography treats a museum as a form of autobiography. Isabella Stewart Gardner never quite fit the mold Boston society expected of her, so she built her own: a four-story Venetian palazzo in the Fens, filled room by room with the art, friendships, and travels she chased on her own terms. Dykstra writes with the same eye for detail that made Gardner's collecting so singular, and the result is a portrait of a woman who turned her obsessions into one of the most original museums in America.

Outline, by Rachel Cusk

A recently divorced writer travels to Athens to teach a summer workshop and spends the novel mostly listening. Ten conversations, strangers and students and colleagues, each one handing over a piece of their marriage or their grief or their idea of themselves, and the narrator says almost nothing back. What emerges is a portrait of her drawn entirely in negative space, visible only in the shape of what surrounds her. It is a strange, exacting book about how much of identity is actually just the story other people tell in your presence.

What We’re Eating

Emilia, Philadelphia

Emilia is Greg Vernick's newest project is a departure from the seafood focus of Vernick Fish and the New American register of Vernick Food & Drink. Here the kitchen turns entirely toward Italy, with Chef de Cuisine Meri Medoway bringing her own family history with the cuisine into the room. The pastas are the reason to go: tortellini in brodo, rigatoni in ragu bianco, capellini with pesto, all handmade and none of them trying too hard to be clever. The wine list is Italian and well chosen, the cocktails are properly made, and the whole thing reads as two cooks working from the same instinct rather than a chef chasing a trend.

What We’re Purchasing

Biologique Recherche Cryo-Sticks

Cryotherapy earns its keep in the summer months, when heat and humidity leave the complexion puffy and dull by midday. These sticks deliver cold therapy in a form precise enough to sculpt along the jaw and cheekbones and calming inflammation on contact.

Brontedolci Pistachio Pesto

Made in Sicily from Bronte pistachios, this is the kind of condiment that makes a plain bowl of pasta something truly extraordinary. Toss it through a simple salad, spoon over grilled fish, or spread it thin on homemade pizza before it hits the oven. If the coast of Sicily isn't on this summer's itinerary, this gets you most of the way there.

Astier de Villatte Incense

Astier de Villatte has spent nearly three decades crafting beautiful objets d’art, and the incense is no exception. Each scent is built to read like a memory rather than a note, something closer to an old library or a candlelit room than a perfume counter. The appeal isn't any single fragrance so much as the ritual of it: a match, a few minutes of smoke, a room that suddenly feels considered instead of just occupied.

What We’re Obsessing Over

The Financial Diet

The Financial Diet is on a mission to make financial literacy more accessible, empowering women to build lives on their own terms, no matter where they're starting. Since 2014, founder Chelsea Fagan and her team have transformed topics like budgeting, investing, and debt into thoughtful, judgment-free conversations that respect readers' intelligence and recognize every income level as a valid place to begin.

What makes The Financial Diet so compelling is its belief that confidence grows with knowledge. The more you understand your finances today, the easier it becomes to make bigger, bolder decisions tomorrow, for yourself and for the people who depend on you. It's practical, encouraging, and a reminder that financial security is something you can build step by step.

What We’re Recommending

Yves Saint Laurent and Photography

If you're looking for a weekend outing that feels equal parts inspiring and immersive, Yves Saint Laurent and Photography is worth adding to your list. On view from June 11 through September 28, 2026, the exhibition explores the decades-long creative partnership between Yves Saint Laurent and the photographers who helped shape his enduring visual legacy.

Bringing together nearly 300 photographs and archival objects, the show features work by some of fashion photography's most influential names, including Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton, Steven Meisel, and Andy Warhol. Alongside iconic images, you'll find contact sheets, campaign materials, magazines, and personal photographs that reveal how fashion photography became an art form in its own right.

More than a retrospective, the exhibition offers a behind-the-scenes look at how Yves Saint Laurent transformed the relationship between fashion and image-making, creating a blueprint that continues to influence the industry today. Whether you're interested in fashion, photography, or creative history, it's an inspiring way to spend a slow Sunday.
