Find Your Scent Family
Every fragrance belongs to a family, and knowing yours turns a blind buy into an educated one. Fourteen families sit on the wheel below, arranged so that neighbours smell like neighbours. Select one to learn what it is built from, how it wears, and what to shop.

How a fragrance unfolds
Top
First 15 to 30 minutes
The opening, and the part you smell on a blotter in store. Citrus, green notes, light fruit, and aromatic herbs live here, and all of them are gone quickly.
Heart
1 to 4 hours
The character of the fragrance, and what most people actually mean when they describe a scent. Florals, spice, and the fuller fruit notes sit in the heart.
Base
6 hours and beyond
What is left on skin and on fabric the next morning. Wood, resin, amber, musk, and leather do the anchoring, and they decide how long anything lasts.
Test on skin, not paper, and give it four hours before deciding.
