Summer (unofficially) starts tomorrow. Here's how to spend today.
Memorial Day Sunday exists in a category of its own. Part self-care Sunday, part pregame for summer. The energy is split evenly between staying horizontal for as long as possible and figuring out who has a cooler, a beach house, or access to a boat today.
There is always a moment on this particular Sunday afternoon when you realize the season is about to change. The air smells different. Your group chats suddenly become active again. By tomorrow morning, everyone will somehow be outside at once.
Which is why today should feel intentional. Not productive or optimized, just enjoyable.
Your Mind
Treat today like the last truly quiet day you are going to have for a while.
Summer has a tendency to fill up every open space on the calendar. There will be trips, dinners that turn into late nights, weekends that disappear too quickly, and texts asking what your plans are before you have even had coffee.
So today is for slowing things down.
Read for an hour. Watch a movie in the middle of the afternoon. Call someone you have been meaning to call. Wander through a beautiful park with absolutely no urgency. Let yourself do things that are enjoyable but technically unnecessary.
The best Memorial Day Sundays should feel indulgent, unstructured and relaxing.
Your Body
This is the calm before three straight months of saying yes to plans.
The best thing you can do this morning is the obvious thing: Hydrate accordingly! We love to add electrolytes to our water to keep our hydration levels replenished (even more necessary in the warmer months!) A little collagen in your morning latte goes a long way, too!
After that, eat something that actually satisfies you, make your favorite tea and take a moment to center yourself and your body. Whether that’s a long walk, a guided meditation or an online yoga class, connecting with your body relieves stress and releases endorphins. Summer weekends are fun partly because they're slightly exhausting, but today is your quiet chance to get ahead of that. Finally, end the evening with an everything shower so you can feel like your best self stepping into the next season!

Your Skin
Your skin also knows summer is starting soon.
If there's one serum to reach for this summer, it's this one. The D7 Serum is a protective golden elixir that shields, restores, and delivers that lit-from-within glow, whether you're on your third rosé at a rooftop or finally getting eight hours of sleep. It strengthens your barrier, locks in moisture, and leaves a satin finish that makes your skin look like it's been somewhere beautiful. Consider it your skin's best travel companion, and the one product worth never running out of. Whether it's your morning glow or your makeup primer, this is the serum you’ll reach for every day.
And for the love of everything, remember your SPF! Sun protection is the one step that earns its place every single day, not just at the beach or over a long weekend. Memorial Day weekend often ends in sunburns for many. After months of winter and spring, we forget what six hours of direct sunlight can do to the complexion. Make it a habit before summer gives you a reason to regret it.
Enjoy the rest of the day. Summer (unofficially) starts tomorrow, and it's going to be a good one!
