Collection: Green Fragrances
Green fragrances smell of cut stems, crushed leaves, and cool morning air, built from galbanum, violet leaf, and grassy notes rather than from flowers or fruit.
Galbanum, a resin harvested in Iran, gives the family its cold, bitter, mineral edge and forms the backbone of the classic green structures. Violet leaf reads sharp and faintly metallic, close to the smell of a snapped plant stem. Tomato leaf brings an acrid greenhouse quality, and cut grass delivers the most recognisable green note of all, though it fades almost immediately. Green tea sits at the softer end of the family, gently smoky and lightly astringent.

Green is crisp rather than sweet, and it suits anyone who finds florals too rich and citrus too simple. It layers well with woods and musks, which give it depth and hold it on the skin.
